Louisa Town Mayor Jim Artz opened the joint meeting between Mineral Town Council and Louisa Town Council.

There will be two topics of discussion for tonight's meeting transportation and the wastewater plant.

Mrs. Wilson-Kube had spoke with Mr. Artz pertaining to her concerns of traffic congestion between the two towns, it was then suggested that a joint meeting between the two towns would benefit both concerned parties.

There was discussion on the transportation problems that affect both towns. The amount of congestion on the corridor between the two towns causes major concerns for both towns. With housing developments coming to both towns the congestion will increase. Both parties agree that this issue needs to be addressed. A two person committee from each town will work together on these issues. A resolution will be drafted and sent to the Board of Supervisors and State legislators.

The waste water treatment plant serves Louisa County, Town of Louisa and Town of Mineral. The plant is operating at full capacity. Construction is slated to begin at the end of 2008, beginning of 2009 to add to the exiting plant. Town of Louisa is using 80% of the waster water plant, borrowing a large portion of their use from Louisa County. With both towns having new developments now and in the future, this causes concern of the ability of the plant to treat all the waste. With the construction of the new waste water plant in 2008/2009 the problem with the sewage capacity will be addressed.

Motion made by Roy McGehee to adjourn, seconded by William Thomas.
